In the flow of rupture | July 2026

To begin our Council session on Monday July 13, we screened a recent address by Bayo Akomolafe, speaking at the College of the Atlantic’s 2026 Commencement. A dear ally and inaugural CUHF Senior Fellow, his insights were a poignant offering in the context of our ongoing Council series, In the flow of rupture.

Initially launched over two sessions in February/March 2025, In the flow of rupture offers ongoing opportunities for reflection among CUHF community members in the wake of upheaval created by the current U.S. administration. Each month, in Council, we ask:

What is happening and how do we stay present, compassionate, grounded and in community amidst the convulsions? Can we together expand our insight and perspective, while being realistic, agile, skillful and of service?

In October 2025, Bayo joined the CUHF community via Zoom, as part of the series,  to offer a reflection on “the crisis of pedagogy”, which you can view here. Visit the homepage of our site to learn more about the series as a whole.
