“Science and the people who practice it” are proving indispensable during the COVID crisis, as they are in the fight against climate change. Emergencies reveal that what seemed impossible is doable. “We must reassess business as usual in every dimension, including the drivers of climate change.” Leadership matters, and from the responses to COVID-19, perhaps we can “find the courage and insight to create the resilient, forward-looking society we need.”
