The Adaptive Mind Project

If society is to adequately prepare, respond, and recover from the more frequent and severe disasters we face, we must support the people who do this work. The Adaptive Mind project focuses on understanding and fostering the psychosocial capacities of people who work in the often traumatic, uncertain, and accelerating areas of climate change.

Center for Ecoliteracy

The Center for Ecoliteracy advances the teaching and modeling of sustainable practices in K–12 schools through building partnerships and the capacity of schools to support healthy, sustainable school communities and food systems change. The center leads systems change initiatives, publishes original books and resources, facilitates conferences and professional development, and provides strategic consulting.

Center for Emergent Diplomacy

The Center for Emergent Diplomacy is a social-profit think tank exploring radical problem-solving processes from the frontier of complexity science and practice. Through training, facilitation and convening, we create new action strategies that lead to a more just and resilient future.

Merle Lefkoff is the President of the Center for Emergent Diplomacy and a member of the CUHF Santa Fe Council.

ClimateCultures

ClimateCultures is an online space for creative minds to share responses to our ecological and climate predicaments. It’s a network of artists, curators and researchers working across many practices, venues and disciplines. It builds creative conversations between and beyond different appreciations of what these predicaments mean, and of what they offer us as ways forward.

Wallace Heim is a member of ClimateCultures and a CUHF Edinburgh Council member.

Climate Psychiatry Alliance

The Climate Psychiatry Alliance is a group of psychiatrists dedicated to raising awareness about the impacts of climate change on mental health, mitigating climate distress, and joining with others to address root causes of the climate crisis.

Robin Cooper is a member of the Climate Psychiatry Alliance’s Steering Committee and a member of the CUHF Bay Area Council.

Educate the Whole Child

Educate the Whole Child (ETWC) is a national network of innovative public schools identifies and then certifies schools that actively engage kids on multiple levels and various intelligences. Typically these schools embrace project- and place-based learning and infuse social and emotional development into all their classes. Students connect with nature and community. They learn to work in teams and are fully engaged in learning—head, heart, and hands.

Christopher Nye is on the leadership team for ETWC. Former board chair for Orion Magazine, he is currently writing a book that envisions a transformed future. With his wife he runs a small foundation promoting gap year programs that offer “deeply transformative learning.” He is a member of CUHF Rando 2 Council.

Emergent Resilience

Climate change is an urgent crisis that is symptomatic of deeper underlying problems, the impacts of which affect us all. Based on this understanding, Emergent Resilience develops and provides research-based offerings that help our clients thrive in the midst of dramatic global change.

Kevin Gallagher is the Director of Emergent Resilience, a member of the CUHF Core Team and a National Convener.

A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety

A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety: How to Keep Your Cool on Warming Planet explains why and how we need to let go of eco-guilt, resist burnout, and cultivate resilience while advocating for climate justice. This text is a guide for the climate generation—and perhaps the rest of us—as we confront the greatest environmental threat of our time.

Global Warming Express

The “Global WE”, founded in 2012, is a Climate Change Education & Activism organization and a fast-growing kids’ movement, created and led by kids, for kids. The program has expanded from schools in Santa Fe, NM statewide and across the nation.

Multisolving is a growing movement around the world. When people work together across sectors to address multiple problems with one policy or investment, they are multisolving. Through research, tools, and stories, the institute works to accelerate multisolving.

SEI

SEI is an environmental nonprofit that builds leaders to drive sustainability solutions. For over 24 years, SEI has partnered with schools, communities, and businesses to develop a sustainability leadership pathway from elementary school to early career. Our flagship programs educate and empower students and emerging professionals to create thriving, resilient communities.

A nonprofit collaborating globally to support organizations and communities through training, resources, and consulting on decision-making with equity, empowerment, trust and transparency.
