Barre Center for Buddhist Studies

The Barre Center for Buddhist Studies (BCBS) offers residential and online courses combining study, discussion, and meditation for connecting sangha, supporting curiosity, and expanding and deepening personal practice.

Cambridge Insight Meditation Center

The Cambridge Insight Meditation Center (CIMC) is an urban refuge and teaching center for all who seek inner peace through the liberating practice of Insight Meditation (vipassana). Adults of all cultural and spiritual backgrounds, races, nationalities, classes, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, and abilities are welcome. Offering trainings, workshops, programs, and practices dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where the contemplative life can be nurtured amid the complexities of daily life.

Chaplaincy Center, University of Edinburgh

The Chaplaincy Team at the University of Edinburgh the largest in a UK university, with 25 Honorary Chaplains from global faith and philosophical traditions. Chaplaincy provides personal, emotional, communal, spiritual, faith and belief support, for all members of the University and is used as much or more by people of no religion, than by people of particular faiths.

Harriet Harris is Chaplain at the University of Edinburgh and a member of the CUHF Chaplaincy Council.

Dorje Denma Ling

Dorje Denma Ling is part of a world-wide community of Shambhala and Buddhist practitioners and is Canada’s only Shambhala International residential program centre. Dorje Denma Ling hosts group retreats that strengthen our innate mindfulness and awareness capabilities, and foster a more awake, kind, and caring culture.

Christine Heming is a teacher at Dorje Denma Ling and a member of the CUHF EcoSattva 2 Council.

Natural Dharma Fellowship

Natural Dharma Fellowship (NDF) is an organization of Buddhist practitioners dedicated to bringing the practices of Tibetan Buddhism into the contemporary world in accessible, relevant, and creative ways. Wonderwell Mountain Refuge is NDF’s meditation retreat center. Nestled on a quiet country road in rural New Hampshire, it provides a sacred home for the practice and teaching of Tibetan Buddhism.

Lama Willa Blythe Baker is founder and Spiritual Co-Director at NDF, and a member of the CUHF National Council. Lama Elizabeth Monson is Spiritual Co-Director at NDF, and a member of the CUHF Core Team as well as a National Convener. Barbara Waldorf is Co-Managing Director of NDF, a member of the CUHF EcoSattva 1 Council and a National Convener.

New England Council Collective

The New England Council Collective is a small but growing body of certified Council trainers and Council facilitators in the New England area. We serve individuals, groups and organizations seeking to learn more about Council and to seed Council practices in their lives and work in and for the human and more-than-human worlds.

One Heart Zen

One Heart Zen offers daily Zen Meditation gatherings, zazen, Dharma Talks, monthly One Day Sittings, Sesshin, multiple day Zazen intensives, weekly text study and discussion, and Dokusan (private discussion with a Zen Teacher). Everyone interested in meditation, whether brand new, experienced in other traditions, or an “old hand” is welcome to join in our practice as your life and schedule allow.

John Bailes is the Founder and President of One Heart Zen, and is a member of the CUHF Eco-Sattva 2 Council as well as a National Convener.

The Wellesley Buddhist Community

The Wellesley Buddhist Community welcomes everyone to participate directly in mindfulness and meditation practice and experience the effects in their own lives—encouraging regular practice, openness, kindness and gentleness with ourselves and others to help develop resilience, buoyancy, and a culture of gratitude and loving kindness in the Wellesley Community.

Yale Forum on Religion & Ecology

Based at Yale University’s School of the Environment, the Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology is an international multireligious project contributing to a new academic field and an engaged moral force of religious environmentalism. With its conferences, publications, monthly newsletter, and website, it explores religious worldviews, texts, and ethics in order to contribute to environmental solutions along with science, policy, law, economics, and appropriate technology.

Mary Evelyn Tucker is the Co-Director of the Forum and a member of the CUHF National Council.
