“The response to the pandemic should recognize it as part of climate change. What we thought was “normal” before was already a crisis. Returning to where we were cannot be an option; we need a just transition away from neo-liberal policies and the unrestrained use of natural resources. The climate crisis “is much deadlier than the virus.”

A post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Development Policy at the University of Antwerp, Vijay Kolinjivadi relates ecological economics and political ecology to human-nature relations. His Ph.D. is from McGill University. He is active in anti-oppression movements in Montreal.
